Programming

Our conference seeks to not only deepen the understanding of mental health-related issues but also to stimulate multidisciplinary efforts for effective advocacy within our state to improve mental health and increase access to mental health services.

 

We hope to achieve these goals through a full day of programming aimed at educating and empowering attendees to address mental health access and advocacy. The conference will be structured to incorporate diverse perspectives and will include the following events:

Podium

Keynote Speakers

Featuring invited guest speakers from institutions, community organizations, and healthcare organizations around the state of Tennessee that have engaged in advocacy for mental health.

Panel Discussions

Breakout rooms that will be guided by facilitators with roundtable discussions about advocacy, interventions, or research. In these rooms we will discuss how we can better collaborate across disciplines as well as how we can use the work we are already doing to inform policy development in the state of Tennessee.

Poster Sessions and Symposia

Students, faculty, and community organizations are invited to submit their work in categories of mental health advocacy, intervention, and research. Poster sessions also include the opportunity to enter work for cash prizes!

Mentorship and Networking Opportunities

Dedicated time to network and form connections between students, faculty, and those working in the community all with the shared goal of improving mental health access and advocacy in Eastern Tennessee.
